With about 40 different waterproofing products or systems to choose from it is understandable why some engineers find it difficult to specify the appropriate one. John Osborne considers why there is more to bridging gaps in exposed MSCP decks than simply choosing between epoxy, methyl methacrylate, and polyurethane systems.
Although plenty of advice is freely available, selecting a waterproofing systemfor an MSCP is likely to become more complicated. If forecasters are right and the climate changes significantly in future decades, chemists and engineers and will have to work even harder to find appropriate coatings.
