For many,the mental picture of a parking deck conjures up an image of a giant fossil,its exposed,bleached bones assaulting the aesthetic senses.Plain,boxy,and grey,the minimalist parking garages of the past 50 years have earned the scorn of some urban planners and architects,who consider these structures as ugly,alien invaders ruining the view.Yet the automobile is ultimately the king of the urban jungle and the garage is its lair."Nobody really likes to see parking-until they can't find a convenient spot,"says somebody.
