Parking tickets receive close scrutiny in the City of Winnipeg;The Winnipeg Parking Authority's Quality Assurance Program makes certain of that.
At its creation in 2006,the WPA assumed responsibility for all On Street parking and non-moving violation enforcement,citywide,from the Police service.The former Police practice was to "fire and forget"-to issue a handwritten,manual ticket and send complainants to court to deal with any push back.Parking tickets were written by a contract agency,and day-to-day activities of 45 individual contractors were overseen by a police officer.
